I
come from an artistic family and have always loved design and
colour.
I worked in the textile
industry for many years, both in Lancashire and for Sandersons
prints at their base in London. When my husband and I
semi-retired to Cumbria in late 1997, it not only gave me a
chance to see more of my family and grandchildren but also
inspired me to start painting in watercolour.
My immediate surroundings in the Eden district of Cumbria are
beautiful and I enjoy painting gardens and village landmarks as
well as some of the stunning landscapes on my doorstep. A
selection of these is available to buy from my
gallery pages and
I am always keen to take on specific
commissions too.
I also like to apply my skills to more
commercial challenges such as illustration or logo design and I
enjoy working with other people – from children to more mature
painters - to help them to make the most of their own talents.
Whether as a group tutor or a speaker, this can be just as
satisfying as seeing one of my own finished pictures mounted,
framed and hanging in someone’s home.
